Cruise ship on the Brno dam

Reservoir with an area of 2,52 km2 has been built on the river Svratka in the years 1936-1940. Today, the dam is a popular holiday destination with regular shipping. Water surface is crisscrossing by six "steamships"; allships have ecological electric drive.

The Technical museum in Brno

The museum focuses on the development of science and technology and industrial production of almost three dozen disciplines - from cottage industries to modern computer technology.For example the “Handicrafts Lane exhibition” shows works of urban craftsmen from 1920s and 1930s. The lane includes examples of workrooms (watchmaker´s, locksmith´s, tailor´s, shoemaker´s and barber´s) in order to bring the atmosphere of the pre-war period closer to the visitors.
The exhibition is complemented with a coffee-roaster, dentist‘s surgery, pub and a part of gallery dwelling.

Further, the exposition of mechanic music parlor is a collection of mechanical music machines that are distinct because of their emotive ornamentation, precise watchmaker work, artistic carving and delicate mechanical treatment.

Also you can see “the Technical Game-room” which is focused on visitors’ interaction with physical or technical experiment. The visitors can handle the experimental models and observe the resulting reaction. Motto: „Touch - Try - Watch - Get to know“.

Villa Tugendhat

The villa is recorded in the UNESCO List of World Cultural Heritage. It is the only monument of modern architecture in the Czech Republic. The Villa of Greta and Fritz Tugendhat from the years 1929-1930, was designed by the architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
