The content of this post is especially comparing the results of measurement of residual stresses using the X-ray diffraction and Barkhausen noise method. These two processes are often used in academic research. Currently, there are often used at output control of real heavy-duty machine parts. The main motivation of this article is the possibility of comparing the results obtained using these two methods. On the samples were created damaging by plastic deformation, which can simulate for example pittings, or other similar surface defects.
